We use recycled water for wash down

Process sustainability

In order to create the substrate for the mushrooms to grow, all recycled materials are used.

These materials include wheat straw (carbon), poultry manure (nitrogen), gypsum (pH adjuster), recycled water (storm water/wash-down water) and air (to keep process aerobic). The compost generates its own heat and only uses the energy from machines and fans throughout the process.
